Pru Montin is one of Australia’s most innovative film composers and sound designers. Based in studios across LA and Australia, she is fast creating a name as a dynamic collaborator creating freshly unique and evolving emotive soundscapes for Hollywood composers including Cliff Martinez (Drive), Adam Peters (Icarus), and ground-shaking directors Mary Lambert (Like a Virgin) and Richard Elfman (Forbidden Zone).
Her unique approach has led to features by ASCAP as Composer to Watch, APRA AMCOS’s World IP Day Innovator, the coveted 2019 APRA AMCOS PDA Award and was the 2016-2018 Brian May Scholarship recipient which helped kick start her career in the US.
Her film credits include the AACTA-nominated Moon Rock for Monday, with scores premiering at major festivals such as the black-comedy Heck! at Cannes, Villains (starring Bill Skarsgård) at SxSW whilst being regularly placed across various television networks ABC, BBC, ESPN and National Geographic to name a few.
In theatre, Patrice Balbina’s Chance Encounter With the End of the World for ATYP has toured world-wide and she wrote the full score and sound design for the 2022 National Tour of Bell Shakespeare’s Comedy of Errors.
