Martin was born in Las Vegas, Nevada, grew up in Los Angeles, lived in New York City for 25 years, and now lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico. His plays and musicals (TITANS, MISS MAUDE, BLACK TOM ISLAND; THE REPORT; THE IRISH CURSE; DIRECTIONS FOR RESTORING THE APPARENTLY DEAD; SCITUATE; MATES; PAYDIRT; DESERT FIRE; BEAUTIFUL DREAMER; GRAND JUNCTION; GEORGE BUSH GOES TO HELL; PLAY IT COOL; PAPER MOON; HAPPY HOLIDAYS; TAKING CARE OF MRS. CARROLL; SAINT HEAVEN) have played off-Broadway, regionally, and around the world. In film and TV, he’s written for Steven Spielberg, Lasse Hallström, Kerry Washington, Anthony Edwards, Whoopi Goldberg, Disney, Universal, Warner Brothers, ABC, CBS and HBO. His latest projects include an episode of MOLEY, the award-winning, animated British television series. The screenplay of his play MISS MAUDE has been optioned and is currently in preproduction. Martin has won national and international awards for his writing. He taught playwrighting at his alma mater Cal Arts, and at the Harvey Milk High School in NYC. He’s a proud member of The Dramatists Guild and the Writers Guild of America, West. As an actor, he can be seen in the classic film POLTERGEIST (1982).
