Having made Super 8 mm films in his neighbourhood as a teen, John was always going to be making stories to be screened. After an apprenticeship of sorts at Channel 7 in Tuart Hill, he co-produced the global music video hits ‘Treaty’, Djapana’ and ‘World Turning’ for Australian indigenous musical act, Yothu Yindi.
John’s highlights in editing 450 television commercials and 600 hours of broadcast programs include the Qantas ‘Choir’, Cargill ‘Future’ and IBM ‘ThinkPad’ commercials which all aired in US SuperBowl and Summer Olympics broadcasts.
John has also been a senior Documentary Producer of the science series Beyond 2000 for The Discovery Channel USA, as well as researching, writing and hosting the successful podcast ‘A Perfect Storm : The True Story of the Chamberlains’.
He was born in Kalgoorlie, worked summer school holidays in a car wash and is now the father of two school-age boys with his wife Tan.
In his spare time he has written six industry acclaimed editions of Timeline: The history of Editing.
