The Western Australian screen industry is as diverse and as vibrant as it’s ever been across all elements – and we believe this alone is cause for recognition and celebration.
In providing that platform, the WA Screen Culture Awards embraces all screen forms from new, established and emerging screen practices. It acknowledges outstanding innovation, independent spirit and contributions in contemporary short, feature and documentary filmmaking, computer games, VR, AR, gallery-based moving image, installations, projections and other intersections with screen and moving image forms.
This sensational evening will include awards across multiple categories as short-listed and awarded by our nationally and internationally-based jury made up of professionals in their specific field. The evening will feature pre-event drinks for nominees and prize supporters, the awards themselves, followed by a post event celebration into the night.
The night caps off two weeks of cross-media celebration with the XR:WA conference and expo (Dec 3-6) and the Revelation Perth international Film Festival (Dec 9-13).
The WA Screen Culture Awards are proudly presented by Revelation Perth International Film Festival on behalf of the WA screen industry and we look forward to working with the entire sector, hearing your opinions and celebrating achievement, innovation and ambition.
We have looked toward presenting the broadest range of categories within which we’re sure you’ll find a home for your work or part there-of.

Some films may be screened during the physical festival, while others may be made available online. The on-line portal will be available to audiences from 3 December until a week after the awards.
Short films will be provided as feature length programmed packages and feature documentaries will be screened as stand alone programs. Films will be made available for the viewer for 24hrs after their first viewing with a $12 hire fee. Feature programs will receive 50% of revenue from any hire and shorts compilation revenue will be divided equally between all filmmakers in the specific packages in which they’re included. In some instances, we’ll also look toward online Q&As and talks around selected programs
If you want to participate (you don’t have to), just let us know in the appropriate box on the entry form. Our Digital Rights Management is the same as Netflix, Disney+ and others and the audience insights will take your marketing analysis to the next level.
